PM Shahbaz Sharif likely to announce federal cabinet tonight
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif today invited parties and other allies of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) to an Iftar dinner to discuss the formation of the federal cabinet.
According to government sources, besides the leaders of PDM parties, the Prime Minister has invited PPP and ANP leaders for Iftar today. Iftar dinner will be held at the Prime Minister’s House.
Government sources said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif would thank the leaders of the coalition parties for their support.
Government sources further said that Shahbaz Sharif would finalize the cabinet after consulting the allies. The names of the federal cabinet members are expected to be announced by tonight.
PM Shahbaz Sharif had assumed the post of Prime Minister on April 11, but despite four days of turmoil, the federal cabinet could not be formed.
On the other hand, sources said that 12 ministries are likely to be given to PML-N, 7 to PPP, BAP, BNP-Mengal and MQM to be given two ministries each.
