PM Office contacts Umar Shareef regarding his health treatment
Host of ARY News programme ‘11th Hour’, Waseem Badami met legendry actor and comedian Umar Shareef a day ago and inquired about his health treatment. Through him Umar Shareef has given a message to his fans and Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The actor is suffering from such a disease which cannot be treated in Pakistan. In a video message, he said doctor had recommended him to go to America for better treatment.
He has not sought any financial help from the government rather he has sought help only regarding arrangements for his traveling such as visa and air ambulance.
Reminding Imran Khan about his service for his hospital, he said that it was in his fate to help him in construction of Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital. He said whenever Imran Khan contacted him he responded affirmatively and he was positive that the PM would also be present for him when contacted.
Spokesperson and Special Assistant to PM on Political Communication Dr Shahbaz Gill said the government would take measures for the best health treatment of Umar Shareef. He said the government would contact embassies of the United States, Germany and Saudi Arabia for him.
“The Prime Minister’s Office is in touch with him on the instructions of the prime minister. I talked to Waseem Badami in the morning. As soon as we get the required information from Badami Sahib, immediate work will be started on it,” he tweeted.
Meanwhile, Waseem Badami also received a call from the PM House assuring him that every possible step would be taken to ensure Umar Shareef’s travelling abroad (for health treatment). He requested everyone for prayers.
Stand-up comedian Nadir Ali also prayed for Umar Shareef’s speedy recovery.
