PM Khan writes letter to Bangladeshi premier on independence day

Prime Minister Imran Khan extended best wishes to his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina Wajed on the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh’s independence.
In his letter to the Bangladeshi premier, the PM asked her to “renew our resolve” and jointly work for even closer ties and for a better future of the both countries.
In the letter, the PM also invited Sheikh Hasina to visit Pakistan at her earliest convenience.
Earlier, the Bangladeshi premier had also extended greetings on the occasion of Pakistan Day through an official letter.
“On my own behalf, and on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan, I have great pleasure in extending our felicitations on the 50th anniversary of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.” the PM stated in his letter.
Khan further added that Pakistan deeply valued ties with Bangladesh based on shared history, common faith, and convergent of interests in promoting lasting peace.
Every year on March 26, Bangladesh commemorates its declaration of independence from Pakistan which took place in 1971.
