On Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan declared that he will begin a drive to mobilize Pakistanis overseas for funds to fight the country’s novel coronavirus.
A series of tweets from the Office of the Prime Minister said that the Premier, along with the support of his Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistani Zulfi Bukhari, will handle the matter personally. He will also speak to Pakistanis abroad.
A minimum of $35 (equivalent to Rs5,820) is required to sustain one family at a time, according to the tweets. There is also an option to send out the sum again or more each month.
In the coronavirus relief fund, PM Khan appealed to them to donate generously, and also set up a website for this purpose.
Donations can be made by logging in to: http:/covid.ophrd.gov.pk/.
The names will also be seen on the website to attract donors.
The relief fund was established to finance the country’s fight against the deadly pandemic.
