PM Imran vows to bring latest technology in elections

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday once again expressed the commitment to bring in the latest technology to ensure transparency in the elections.
Chairing the cabinet meeting in Islamabad, PM Imran Khan emphasized the need for using electronic voting machines in the elections to make the whole process transparent. He also said that efforts were being made to give the right of franchise to overseas Pakistanis. He said he will regularly take updates on both the matters.
Quoting an international report, he regretted that every year 1,000 billion dollars were laundered out of the poor countries to the rich countries.
The prime minister said ruling elites like Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari weakened the relevant institutions to transfer abroad the money accumulated through illegal means.
He said mega projects were also executed by such corrupt elements to get big kickbacks in return. He said the people had to pay the price of this corruption in the form of inflation.
The PM lamented that the corrupt ruling elite then also resorted to different tactics to make their corruption acceptable. With this, he said, they destroyed the morality of a nation.
