PM Imran stresses on health safety for kids as country reopens schools tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: On countrywide resumption of academic activities from Tuesday onwards as coronavirus subsides, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said assuring a safe learning environment for children was a priority.

“Tomorrow we will welcome millions of children back to school. It is our priority and collective responsibility to ensure that every child can go to school safely to learn,” the prime minister tweeted as schools will reopen from Sept 15 (tomorrow) onwards following the government’s decision.

Tomorrow we will welcome millions of children back to school. It is our priority & collective responsibility to ensure that every child can go to school safely to learn. We have worked to ensure that school operations are aligned with public health safety rules on #COVID19

— Imran Khan (@ImranKhanPTI) September 14, 2020

The academic institutions were shut down in March as the country witnessed rising number of coronavirus cases.

However, the decision for reopening was made as situation improved as a result of the government’s smart lockdown strategy.
