PM Imran expresses grief over Air India plane crash incident
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of lives in an air crash in the Indian city of Kerala.
In a tweet, the prime minister also commiserated with the bereaved families.
An Air India Express plane en route from Dubai skidded off the runway and broke in two at Calicut airport upon landing. At least 18 people were killed and around 100 others injured when the passenger plane skidded off the runway in the southern state of Kerala.
The plane was carrying more than 190 passengers and crew from Dubai to Kozhikode airport.
The civil aviation ministry said in a statement there was no fire on board. The ministry said if fire would have erupted it would have become an extremely difficult task for them to save lives.
