PM Imran determined to save economy from negative impacts of coronavirus

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday underlined government’s priority to save economy from the negative impacts of the coronavirus and ensuring uninterrupted flow of economic activities in the country.

Chairing a high level meeting to cater to the possible effects of coronavirus on economy in Islamabad, he said protecting employment of the general public was also top priority of the government.

He directed the concerned authorities to devise a comprehensive strategy to provide relief to the common man in view of any possible situation and ensure availability of the essential commodities.

The prime minister stressed that the complaint of hoarding and illegal profiteering would not be tolerated at any cost. He said strict action would be taken in this regard.

President Dr Arif Alvi said the world craved Pakistan’s youth which formed 60 percent of population.

In an interview with a private television channel, the president said the fourth industrial revolution was of the artificial intelligence and it was a must for Pakistan to join the race.

He urged media to play role in certain social issues like protection of women’s inheritance rights and development of the country.

Dr Arif Alvi said Pakistani nation had a unique characteristic of showing compassion to the helpless refugees, philanthropy and also a distinction of successfully eliminating terrorism which other countries could not achieve.

President Dr Arif Alvi has said Pakistan and China believed in coexistence and non-interference and their relations were based on mutual trust and win-win cooperation. He was talking to Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in Beijing on Tuesday.

Welcoming the President, Premier Li Keqiang thanked Pakistan and Pakistani leadership for an all-out support to China during testing times.

He said, “Not only we need to enhance our cooperation to jointly fight challenges but we must also work to demonstrate our firm commitment for a multifaceted cooperation with the international community.
