AZAD KASHMIR: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan arrived in Azad Kashmir on Wednesday for a visit to areas severely affected by recent land sliding and heavy snowfall.
PM Imran, along with the Minister of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur, will personally track the relief work in the snow-hit areas, sources report.
Reports further suggested that Premier Imran Khan will also consult with families affected by land sliding in AJK.
On the other hand, in the last three days a severe cold snap, snowfall, and rain-related incidents have claimed lives of at least 97 people across Pakistan, while several others have been injured, according to official statement by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
As heavy snowfall and rain continued to lash parts of the country, particularly northern areas, 62 people were killed and more than 15 villages in Azad Jammu and Kashmir were injured in land sliding and avalanche.
In Balochistan, NDMA confirmed rains claimed 20 lives and 35 homes were destroyed.
Earlier Tuesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan had ordered the people affected by land sliding in Azad Jammu and Kashmir to urgently provide all humanitarian aid on an emergency basis.
