PM Imran already announced not to acknowledge Israel: Fayaz

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Prisons Fayaz ul Hasan Chohan on Thursday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had already announced the government policy multiple times that Israel would not be acknowledged as a state.

He said this while talking to media in Lahore.

Fayaz Chohan said that behavior of spokespersons of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) amounted to spitting in the sky. He said the government was not playing politics on release of PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz on parole.

He said the doing immoral politics on the matter did not suit the PML-N. He said Shehbaz and Hamza would be provided every possible facility inside and outside of the jail.

On Nov 24, the Punjab government had decided to release opposition leader in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif and Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz on parole.

Earlier, the Home Ministry had sent its recommendations to the sub-committee on parole. The parole period will be determined in the light of the recommendations of the sub-committee admission.

According to sources, the body of Shahbaz Sharif’s mother is likely to reach Pakistan from London on Thursday.

Funeral prayers will be offered at Regent Park Mosque before the departure of Begum Shamim Akhtar. Her body will be sent to Pakistan after paperwork. Nawaz Sharif’s sister will also come to Pakistan with her mother’s body.

The body of Nawaz Sharif’s mother has been shifted to the morgue of Regent’s Park Mosque in London. The body will be sent to Pakistan after completion of paperwork. It may take two to three days to send Begum Shamim Akhtar’s body to Pakistan.

Begum Shamim Akhtar died in London two days ago. She was ill for a long time. In Pakistan, Begum Shamim Akhtar’s funeral prayers will be offered at Sharif Medical City. She will be buried in Lahore.

According to family sources, Begum Shamim Akhtar had Alzheimer’s disease and a severe chest infection.
