PM AJK distances himself from Imran’s statement about Gen (retd) Bajwa’s double-game

Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, who is also a member of PTI, distanced himself from the Imran Khan’s statement about the former army chief Gen (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa’s double game.

Talking to private news channel, PM AJK said that PTI chairman Imran Khan’s accusation of double game against Gen (retd) Bajwa was contrary to reality.

He revealed that some PTI insiders flared up Khan’s conflicts with Pakistan Army as they have an eye on the party chairmanship.

PM AJK Ilyas furthered that Gen (retd) Bajwa was the well-wisher of PTI and Imran Khan as the army always supported former prime minister’s party.

Earlier, in an interview with private news channel, President Arif Alvi said: “Khan’s comments on ex-COAS Gen Bajwa’s double-game would be based on his own experiences.”

Background

Talking to private news channel, former prime minister Imran Khan said his government’s decision to extend former chief of the army staff Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa’s term in 2019 was a ‘mistake’.

He claimed that Gen (retd) Bajwa was playing a ‘double game’ and he could later identify that even PTI members were being given different messages.

PTI chief added that the retired general used to give different messages to his party members, admitting he had a strange attitude after the extension.
