Plan B: Government considers resignations from assemblies
Regarding the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister Imran Khan, the government has started considering a new plan.
In this regard, sources said that Prime Minister Imran Khan could use his resignation card from the assemblies on the victory of the opposition in the no-confidence motion.
Sources said that at present the number of PTI members in the National Assembly is 155 and with the resignations from the Assembly the new government will face a crisis and it will be difficult to hold such a large number of by-elections.
Sources said that the same exercise would be conducted in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the same time as the Prime Minister believed that going to the elections immediately would be of interest to him.
The recent results of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa local body elections are encouraging for him and Imran Khan has also received an anti-American statement for the election campaign.
Sources further said that the Prime Minister was seriously considering the suggestion of resignations that in case of success of the no-confidence motion, all PTI members should resign.
According to sources, in case of resignations, the new government may also dissolve the assemblies.
