ISLAMABAD: The lawyer of Azlan, son of Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment of Women Shamala Tariq, has said that the plaintiffs pardoned his client in Srinagar highway accident case for the sake of Allah (SWT).

Talking to media, the counsel, Saeed Khursheed said that it was an accident and the litigants had agreed upon that.

He said Azlan was innocent as he was not driving the vehicle, while driver himself has admitted in his statement recorded with police that the accident happened while he was driving. He said after watching the CCTV footages of the incident the plaintiffs pardoned his client for the sake of Allah (SWT).

On Feb 1, a major accident on Srinagar Highway in Islamabad because of over speeding of a vehicle had resulted in deaths of six people.

Just two days after the incident, a witness had claimed that Kashmala Tariq’s son was driving the car that rammed into a bike and another vehicle on Islamabad’s Srinagar Highway.

Contrary to the former MNA’s claim, the eyewitness Mujib ur Rehman, who himself got injured in the road mishap, had said that he saw Azlan driving the vehicle. He had said all that he wanted was justice for his family and friends.
