 Pill to treat Covid-19 developed

Merck, a multinational pharmaceutical company in the United States, has developed a pill to treat the coronavirus, results of which have been described as excellent and groundbreaking.

According to the German website “DW“, medical experts have described the new drug as a surprising and important development. The pill was developed in the laboratory of the American pharmaceutical company named Merck.

Medical experts say that this medicine can actually be used as a cure for this disease. This medicine will be available in pill form and can be used to save lives.

Merck’s drug is named “Molnupiravir.” This is a significant development as it is the first drug to control the coronavirus, which can be swallowed by the patient.

Merck Pharmaceuticals is also collaborating with another biological company, Ridgeback Biotherapeutics, to develop the drug.

Merck has now begun the initial process of obtaining approval for the drug from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The drug will also be available worldwide for other countries after the US agency approves it.

Senior vice president of Merck’s infectious disease unit, Dr. Nicholas Kartsonis said, “The value here is that it’s a pill so you don’t have to deal with the infusion centers and all the factors around that.”

He further added, “I think it’s a very powerful tool to add to the toolbox.”
