PIA to return six planes as their lease end next year

KARACHI: The acquired lease of six planes in possession of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) is going to end and the aircrafts will be returned next year.

Regarding the termination of the lease of six planes of the national airline, the sources said that the first of the six planes leased will be returned from March 2021 while the last plane will be returned in August 2021.

The PIA has set up an 11-member committee headed by Syed Majid Hameel, which includes Salahuddin Azhar, Salman Ahmed, Amjad Hanif, Musawar Abbas, Bakht Azam, Sadia Moin, Ahmar Abbas, Mujeeb Sheikh and Wali Sohaib.

According to sources, PIA had leased six Airbus 320 aircraft. The committee conducted a detailed inspection of the leased aircraft next year. All departments will be required to provide information to the committee.
