Pakistani Passenger aircraft was not allowed to take off by Malaysian authorities as Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) failed to pay lease money to a Vietnamese company, local media reported.
The decision to seize the plane was taken in the light of orders from a local court in Malaysia.
In an official statement posted on Twitter, the PIA said: “A PIA aircraft has been held back by a local court in Malaysia.”
“The passengers are being looked after and alternate arrangements for their travel have been finalized,” the statement added
However the national flag carrier also expressed concerns and labelled the development as “unacceptable situation” while referring to the matter as a “legal dispute between the PIA and the another party pending in UK court”.
