Photographer Avani Rai captures life in Indian-occupied Kashmir
Avani Rai, an Indian female photographer, shared pictures from her trip in Kashmir in 2014.
The BBC showcases her work inspired by her time in the occupied valley. In the four to five years that followed since her trip, she captured the rawness of the life of the people in Kashmir.
Avani tells the BBC that these pictures run deep with the sorrow of the Kashmiri people and their difficult conditions. She intends to exhibit their feelings through her photography.
