Pfizer researching three-dose vaccine for children and predicts the pandemic to rummage through 2023
The American pharmaceutical giant said in a statement on Friday that it’s currently working on strategies to devise three-dose vaccine courses for the younger population aged between 2 to 16 years and also stressed the face that the pandemic could very well be a global threat well into the year 2023.
As European countries witness a rise in the spread of virus’s latest Omicron variant posing a threat to international travel and other social activities. Pfizer made its comments in the light of a study claiming that the newest recognized variant is five times more likely to reinfect when compared to its recent variant, Delta.
The Pfizer representatives also believe that by the year 2024 the virus is predicted to loosen its grip turning into an endemic. Prior to these developments it was predicted by the American disease doctor, Anthony Fauci that the pandemic would end by the year 2022. This was before the Omicron variant was detected.
