Petrol is likely to increase by Rs 8.5 per liter

Islamabad: Petroleum products are likely to become more expensive from February 16.
According to sources, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has proposed to increase the price of petrol by Rs 8.5 per liter.
OGRA has sent a summary of increase in prices of petroleum products to the Petroleum Division.
OGRA has proposed to increase petrol price by Rs 8.5 per liter and diesel by Rs 5 per liter.
The sources further said that OGRA has been working on the basis of the existing levy. If the federal government raises the levy, the increase will be more than that.
Sources said that further reduction in levy on petroleum products is unlikely.
The final decision on prices will be made by the Prime Minister. New prices for petroleum products will be announced tomorrow.
