KARACHI: In the 5th match of the Pakistan Super League 6, Peshawar Zalmi decimated Multan Sultans by six wickets at the National Stadium Karachi on Tuesday.
While chasing the gigantic total, Kamran Akmal (37 off 24) was LBW out on Usman Qadri’s googly in 7th over. He stitched 57 runs with Imam ul Haq together. While, Imam was run out in 16th over just two runs short of half-century, after making partnership of 76 runs with Tom Kohler Cadmore.
Then Sherfane Rutherford (15 off 6)’s quick but short stint ended in 17th over off Shahnawaz Dahani’s ball, a short while later in the same over Tom Kohler-Cadmore (53 off 32) was also shown the door.
In the end, Haider Ali came and swept the show with beautiful quickfire unbeaten stint of 25 off 8.
Kohler Cadmore bagged man of the match award, while Haider Ali was given the best all-rounder of the match award.
Multan Sultans had set 194-run target against Peshawar Zalmi.
First wicket of Multan Sultans fell in the second over off Mohammad Irfan’s first ball of the match as Chris Lynn departed for 1. Mohammad Imran routed Sultans skipper Mohammad Rizwan (41 off 28) in the 11th over.
James Vince’s fiery 84 off 55 put Multan Sultans in command. His masterful knock was partnered by Rizwan and Sohaib Maqsood (36 off 21).
Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi had won the toss and opted to bowl first against Sultans.
In the 4th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6, opener Fakhar Zaman and middle order batsman Mohammad Hafeez had guided Lahore Qalandars to decimate Quetta Gladiators by 9 wickets.
Batting first, Quetta Gladiators had piled 178 runs against Lahore Qalandars on Monday at the National Stadium Karachi.
