KARACHI: In the eighth match of the Pakistan Super League 6, Peshawar Zalmi on Friday decimated Quetta Gladiators by three wickets at the National Stadium Karachi.
Quetta Gladiators had set massive 199-run target.
While chading the target, Peshawar Zalmi wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal departed for meagre three runs in the third over, followed by Tom Kohler-Cadmore for four runs in the next over. While, Imam ul Haq made a mark before being bowled out in the 10th over for 41 off 30.
Just after clubbing 50, Haider Ali was caught on the next ball off Dale Steyn in the 15th over. In the 16th over, Shoaib Malik was LBW out by Ben Cutting.
Then tail-enders lit the stadium with boundaries. After hitting two 6s and one boundary skipper Wahab Riaz was bowled out by Hasnain in the last over for 20 off 7. Whereas, unbeaten Sherfane Rutherford’s quickfire 36 runs off 18 balls helped Zalmi seal the victory.

Earlier, Peshawar had won the toss and elected to bowl first against Gladiators.
First wicket for Zalmi came in the third over as Cameron Delport was routed by Mohammad Imran for 2 runs. Saim Ayub was removed in the seventh over. While, blistering Faf du Plessis (37 off 26) was caught off Wahab Riaz’s ball in the 11th over.
After driving his team to an imposing total, Gladiators skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed was caught out off Riaz’s ball in the second-last over. On the last over’s first ball, Azam Khan departed for 47 off 26 balls and just on the next ball Ben Cutting went for duck off Saqib Mahmood’s balls. Then Mohammad Nawaz was also removed in the same over.
Earlier on Friday, Multan Sultans had defeated Lahore Qalandars by seven wickets.
