KARACHI: In the 10th match of the Pakistan Super League 6, Peshawar Zalmi demolished Islamabad United by six wickets on Saturday at the National Stadium Karachi.
The credit goes to Zalmi captain Wahab Riaz for his brilliant spell of bowling.
Chasing the lowest total of the PSL 6 so far, Imam ul Haq threw his wicket for nought in the first over. In the next over, Mohammad Wasim took the most crucial wicket of Zalmi as Kamran Akmal was sent packing for 3.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore departed in the 13th over for 46 runs. While, Haider Ali departed in the 17th over after clobbering 36 runs off 18 balls.
Earlier Peshawar Zalmi had won the toss and elected to field first against Islamabad United.
Batting first, Islamabad United put 118 runs, an unimpressive total, on board against Peshawar Zalmi at the expense of all wickets in 17.1 overs.
Zalmi skipper Wahab Riaz took first scalp in the first over as Paul Stirling departed for 1. Mahmood dismissed Phil Salt (9) in the fifth over. In the sixth over, Umaid Asif removed Faheem Ashraf (2). United captain Shadab Khan was routed in the seventh over.
Mahmood took the key wicket of Alex Hales (41 off 27) in the 11th over. Another key wicket fell in the next over as Hussain Talat was routed for 22 off 15. Wahab Riaz removed Iftikhar Ahmed and Asif Ali in the 15th over. Then, the Zalmi skipper took his fourth wicket in the 17th over.
