Authorities have imposed a smart lockdown in four localities in Peshawar as the provincial capital is witnessing a surge in coronavirus-related cases.
According to official notification, the city’s areas include Street No 9, Sector E-11, Phase I, Hayatabad; Street No 3, Gulbahar No 4, near Police Chowki; Street No 11, Defence Colony, Peshawar Cantt and Street No 5, Sector F-V, Phase VI, Hayatabad.
All the entry and exit points of the localities will be sealed except for supplying essential commodities meanwhile all gatherings will be prohibited. Only five people will be allowed during daily prayers in mosques.
Pakistan is alarmingly facing the third wave of the coronavirus as it has recorded 2,338 more positive cases and 44 more deaths in the past 24 hours.
