Peshawar local administration arrests 59 for selling naan of less than prescribed weight

PESHAWAR: The district administration of Peshawar has arrested 59 nanbais (ones involved in the business of making naan) from different areas of the metropolis for selling naan of less than the weight prescribed by the government.
The authorities have launched crackdown against profiteers on order of Peshawar Deputy Commissioner Muhammed Ali Asghar.
According to details, 23 nanbais have been arrested from Hayatabad, 12 from Saddar, six from Budhber, 12 from Matni, interior city and Charsadda Road and six from University Road and Dilzak Road for selling low-weight bread.
The deputy commissioner has warned that no nanbai should sell Rs10 roti of weight less than 115 gram. He said legal action would be taken against those selling a roti for Rs15.
