Peshawar Development Authority DG named in Ring Road scam
PESHAWAR: Peshawar Development Authority Director General Ammara Khan named in Rawalpindi Ring Road scam.
The Khyber Pakhktunkhwa chief secretary detailed KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan about Ammara Khan’s involvement in the said case. The chief minister said that he would take action against the civil servant if she was found involved in the corruption.
Ammara Khan was appointed as the PDA DG in February 2021, after she had served on the post of Rawalpindi Development Authority director general.
Preliminary inquiry report in the Rawalpindi Ring Road project has revealed that over Rs130 billion had been made in property deals since beginning of the project in 2017.
According to The News newspaper, 18 politicians and 34 builders had allegedly acquired about 64,000 kanals within the limits of Rawalpindi/Attock loop, Paswal Zigzag, GT Road and Islamabad Margalla Avenue. The value of the land was expected to rise rapidly due to the mega project.
A couple of days ago, the Punjab government had requested the center to suspend former commissioner Rawalpindi Muhammad Mahmood, former deputy commissioner Attock Ali Annan Qamar and former DC Rawalpindi Anwar-ul-Haq for their alleged involvement in Rawalpindi Ring Road scam. Action against ex-RDA DG Abdul Sattar was also sought by the provincial government.
