Peshawar has commenced the use of sniffer dogs to detect covid-19 among the passengers arriving at the Bacha Khan International Airport.
The sniffer dogs were given special training to find out corona virus in the travelling passengers.
Moreover, the National Command and Operation Center’s (NCOC) delegation also visited the Bacha Khan airport to ensure the covid-19 detection protocols.
It was revealed that rapid antigen tests are also being carried out on passengers arriving in Peshawar from abroad.
Swab tests are being done on incoming passengers. The swabs later gets sniffed by a dog to check for the virus, said airports manager, Obaidullah Abbasi.
He further stated that “if the dog sits down after sniffing the swab, the passenger is declared positive for COVID-19.”
Four passengers at the Peshawar airport were detected with the virus through the sniffing procedure.They were rushed to a hospital for quarantine.
