ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday said the people would witness reduction in inflation within a week.
“The government would not make its people face inflation at the hands of powerful cartels,” he said talking to a local news channel.
Imran Khan said the wheat crisis was caused by reduced crop production due to untimely rains during the last two years.
The prime minister vowed to bring Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif back to the country and put him into jail.
He said the government was in contact with the British authorities and was trying to get Nawaz Sharif deported from the United Kingdom.
Imran Khan also reiterated his resolve of not giving any NRO to the opposition leaders.
He said former President Pervez Musharraf by giving the NRO to PML-N leadership and allowing Nawaz Sharif to go into exile in Saudi Arabia for 10 years had committed a blunder.
Imran Khan reiterated that Nawaz Sharif enjoyed the support of Indian and Israeli lobbies being represented by Hussain Haqqani in the United States.
He said the opposition was not worried about the country or democracy but they were worried because the present government had put Pakistan on the right direction.
