ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said that people were empowered through Prime Minister Citizen Portal in the country.

Addressing a ceremony about two-year performance of Prime Minister’s Citizen Portal, PM Imran Khan paid tribute to the team of Citizen Portal.

“Bureaucrats will also be held accountable through this portal and their promotion, demotion and removal could be influenced by the complaints against them,” he said.

He asked overseas Pakistanis as well to take benefit from this portal. It was the government’s duty to listen to the concerns of the masses, he said adding that citizens had equal rights in developed countries.

Local bodies system was not working properly, therefore the government was bringing a revolutionary local government system, he said.

Imran Khan said people at village level would receive funds and would be able to identify and resolve their issues through this system.

He said a city would also have a government structure like a province which happened in cities like London and Paris.
