 People beat police officials including one woman for stopping them from attending Friday congregation

KARACHI: After Liaquatabad, residents of Orangi Town now beat police officials for stopping them from mass gatherings for Friday congregation at Peerabad area.

The incident took place outside Haqqani Mosque which left three police officials including one woman injured. Senior officers of police have arrived at Orangi Town and they are reviewing the situation.

Police official said the adjacent streets had been sealed and hunt for arrest of the people involved in beating lady police SHO Sharafat was launched.

Last Friday on Apr 3, a violent mob had tortured police officials after police thrashed worshippers for offering prayer at a Jummah congregation in Liaquatabad area of Karachi.

The mob had also smashed windows of a police van into pieces. Police had arrested four people including prayer leader of Ghousia Masjid.
