PCB Umpire Faisal Khan Afridi banned for 5 matches of PSL

KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) elite panel umpire Faisal Khan Afridi has been banned from 5 matches and fined 50% of match fee for violating health and safety protocols of Pakistan Super League (PSL 7) 2022.

Tournament Director Salman Naseer said that the PCB has decided to adopt a zero tolerance policy against violators of health and safety protocols and the decision to ban Faisal Khan Afridi was to ensure a successful tournament. It is an expression of our commitment.

He added that the PCB has formulated health and safety protocols for the successful conduct of the 7th edition of PSL so that the participating players would be available to their respective teams and millions of spectators from all over the world including Pakistan would enjoy their presence.

Sources said that Faisal Khan Afridi has apologized and admitted his mistake while the decision to ban and fine him was taken by the PCB’s corona committee comprising Usman Wahla and Salman Naseer.
