Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed in its press release that the board has decided to postpone the HBL Pakistan Super League 6 with immediate effect.

“The decision was made after seven cases were reported in the competition, which had started on 20 February.” the statement says.

According to the PCB, it will focus on the safe and secure passage of all participants, and arrange repeat PCR tests, vaccines and isolation facilities to the six participating sides.

Earlier on Thursday the PCB states in another press release that three more players have tested positive for the novel virus.

There are reports that two players are from Islamabad United, one player is from Lahore Qalandars including one official who have tested positive.

Our sources have confirmed that some foreign players asked for a permission to leave the tournament due to COVID-19 concerns.

According to the sources, Wasim Akram was also advised by doctors to leave the hotel as he is a diabetic patient.
