PCB confident about proceeding England tour despite positive COVID-19 results

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief executive Wasim Khan has said the England tour is scheduled to proceed as planned despite 10 players testing positive out of the 29-member squad.
“The tour to England is very much on track and the side will depart as per schedule on June 28,” Wasim said as quoted by the PCB on its press release.
“All the first-choice red-ball squad, except for wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan, has been tested negative for coronavirus which means they can start training and practice immediately after they have been tested and given the all clear when they arrive in England.”
He added that Misbah-ul-Haq, head coach and chief selector, is reviewing the training schedule in England and devising plans to test reserve players as backup plans for the team.
The chief executive of the PCB stated that it will monitor and support the players who have been tested positive.
Wasim said players who were diagnosed with the virus were advised to go into self-isolation so that they would not only recover quickly but also prevent infection of their family members.
