PCB announces cricket team for New Zealand tour

Pakistan Cricket Board confirms tour to New Zealand

Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the 35-member squad at the Gaddafi Stadium for the tour of New Zealand.

Head coach Misbah-ul-Haq said during the press conference that the tour of New Zealand would be a test for captain Babar Azam and this is his first challenge as a captain of the Test team.

According to sources, the 20-member support staff will also visit New Zealand. The team will leave for New Zealand on November 23 and will spend 15 days in quarantine there.

All players will be tested for corona before departure and will also be tested upon arrival. All players will be housed in a bio-secure environment.

The tour of New Zealand will see the national cricket team play three T20 and two Test matches from December 18 to January 7.

Squad:

Wicketkeepers: Mohammad Rizwan (vice-captain in Tests), Rohail Nazir, Sarfaraz Ahmed

Openers: Abid Ali, Abdullah Shafique, Fakhar Zaman, Shan Masood, Imam-ul-Haq, Zeeshan Malik

Middle-order batsmen: Babar Azam (captain), Azhar Ali, Fawad Alam, Haris Sohail, Haider Ali, Hussain Talat, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imran Butt, Khushdil Shah, Danish Azaiz, Mohammad Hafeez.

Spinners: Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan (vice-captain in T20Is), Usman Qadir, Yasir Shah, Zafar Gohar

Fast-bowlers: Amad Butt, Faheem Ashraf, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Musa, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Sohail Khan, Wahab Riaz
