PCB announces 16-player ODI squad against New Zealand

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday announced the 16-member squad for the three ODI matches against New Zealand, which are scheduled at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi on 9, 11 and 13 January.
PCB’s interim selection committee chief Shahid Afridi announced the squad during press conference in Karachi.
Babar Azam will continue to lead the side, while Shadab Khan has been ruled out of the seires due to injury.
Uncapped Tayyab Tahir, who had a great run in domestic tournaments, has earned his maiden call. Usama Mir has also been named in the squad in place of injured Shadab Khan.
Earlier, PCB’s interim chief added Fakhar Zaman and Haris Sohail, in the list of probables.
In a tweet, PCB Interim chief selector confirmed the inclusion of both the players saying, “We have added Fakhar Zaman and Haris Sohail to the New Zealand probables list after they passed their fitness tests today.”

It is pertinent to mention here that the three-game ODI series will commence on January 9 (Monday) after the conclusion of the ongoing second Test on Friday (tomorrow).
