Passengers protest after being forced to travel in the dark in Faisalabad
Passengers traveling on the Rehman Baba Express protested in friday’s Faisalabad Railway Station after being forced to travel in the dark without electricity.
The train was engulfed in darkness because there was no electricity,” a passenger said. “The water kept leaking from the taps and there were rats roaming inside the bogies,” he complained.
The travelers protested on the railway tracks at a stop in Faisalabad, chanting slogans against the management of the railways calling on Railway Minister Sheikh Rasheed.
He said the minister was supposed to make the rail service effective first, then criticize others, and demand that the bogies be modified.
Amid the protests, officials at the Faisalabad railway station promised passengers that bogies at the Multan Railway Station would be changed at their request.
The Rehman Baba Express runs daily from Karachi to Peshawar, and has several middle stops.
