Passenger plane crashes in Afghanistan

 Passenger plane crashes in Afghanistan

A passenger plane has reportedly crashed in eastern Afghanistan, officials said.

The aircraft landed in Ghazni province’s Deh Yak district, towards the southwest of Kabul, a provincial spokesman told local media.

The plane crashed due to technical reasons and caught fire, the spokesman said.

The airplane was earlier reported to belong to the Ariana Airlines but now has been denied by the airline.

“Ariana planes that have left, have reached their destination and have not crashed,” a representative for the airline said. “The plane that crashed, therefore, doesn’t belong to Ariana Airlines.”

Details about the casualties have not been provided.
