Parents get justice after 32 years of son’s custodial murder

After 32 years, the Sindh High Court served justice to the parents of 24-year-old Karachi’s shopkeeper, who was murdered in the police custody.
The case of the custodial death of a 24-year-old youth was heard in the Sindh High Court.
The parent’s petition reads that, the police had detained a 24-year-old shopkeeper, Shakeel from Khori Garden area of Karachi on April 24, 1990 and handed over to the CIA center.
Judicial inquiry stated that, the policemen were responsible for the youth’s death.
While pronouncing the verdict in the case, the SHC ordered the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to deduct Rs28 million from the account of the Sindh government and compensate to the family of the deceased.
The SBP deducted Rs28 million from the account of the Sindh government and submitted the check to the Sindh High Court (SHC).
