Pakistan’s Usman Arshad sets out for Mecca on foot to attend Hajj 2023

Since setting out on his journey earlier this month, Pakistani pilgrim Usman Arshad has already walked over a 10th of the 5,400-kilometer route to reach his dream destination, Makkah, in time to take part in next year’s Hajj.
Usman Arshad will reach Makkah to perform Hajj in 7 months after traveling 5,400 kilometers on foot.
25-year old began his journey from his hometown Okara in Punjab province and, carrying only a small backpack and umbrella, and wearing a pair of trekking shoes, plans to travel through five countries before he arrives at Makkah.
Arshad first thought of traveling to the Makkah by foot last year, when he covered 1,270 kilometers during a 34-day walk from Okara to the Khunjerab Pass on the border with China “to promote a peaceful Pakistan.”
Notably, in June of this year, 59-year-old British Muslim Adam Muhammad reached Makkah for Hajj after 11 months of travel on foot.
