Pakistan’s police, judiciary among top most corrupt institutions

The National Corruption Perception Survey (NCPS) 2022 conducted by Transparency International Pakistan (TIP) finds the police and judiciary the most corrupt institutions in the country.
Pakistanis see police as the most corrupt, tendering and contracting as the second most corrupt while they rank judiciary as the third most corrupt institution.
The education sector in a country, where more than 20 million children are out of school, has climbed to fourth position.
The survey respondents also criticized the government for alleged corruption in the recent Pakistan flood aid distribution.
They demanded life imprisonment for corrupt civil servants, politicians, and judges and opined that their assets must be revealed to ensure transparency.
Sindh
Education department remained the most corrupt, police were noted as the second most corrupt, while tendering and contracting as the third most corrupt department in the Sindh.
Punjab
Police noted as the most corrupt department, tendering and contracting came on second and judiciary on third in Punjab.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The judiciary remained the most corrupt, tendering and contracting at second spot and people of the province ranked police at third spot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Balochistan
Tendering and contracting topped the list followed by the police. Judiciary was ranked third by the respondents.
