ISLAMABAD: The Federal Ministry of Education announced on Thursday that students would not be given winter vacations this season in Pakistan.
This was decided during a meeting of inter-provincial education ministers chaired by Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood in Islamabad.
The forum argued that since the students had suffered gigantic loss because of closure of schools for months together in a bid to control spread of coronavirus, therefore they could not afford more vacations.
Shafqat Mahmood said that the situation of the viral disease was not so grave as yet that they order for shutting down educational institutes.
However, the education ministers will meet again to discuss about the schools of northern areas as weather gets extreme there.
Schools in Pakistan remained closed for almost six months until Sept the following year.
