PESHAWAR: Pakistani students trapped in Kyrgyzstan have been seeking help from the media and the government as they face serious problems in regards to safety and health.
According to reports, about ten thousand Pakistani students are stuck in Kyrgyzstan due to the coronavirus pandemic. Students from all over Pakistan are trapped in Kant, Jalal-Abad, Osh and Bishkek.
“We have run out of food items and cannot go outside to shop,” the students said.
We will die of hunger, not the virus, they said.
More than 3000 students have run out of money and daily rations. The lockdown in the country is reported to remain until 30 April.
Upon repeated contact with the Pakistan Embassy, they solely advise us on being patient and pray instead of helping us, said a Pakistani student.
Moreover, our university administration is not letting us go, nor is it providing us any food, the student went on to say.
According to details, around 2000 students are living on rent without food or money to sustain themselves.
“The Pakistani government should take us back from Krygyztan to Pakistan soon,” they said. “We are not safe here. We are not allowed to use social media here. We wish to go back home,” the students demanded.
