Defying borders, politics and ideologies, Pakistani nation has expressed worriedness over shortage of oxygen in India.
Hashtag #IndianNeedsOxygen became top trend on Twitter in Pakistan as people expressed apprehension over acute shortage of oxygen in India amid alarmingly growing number of coronavirus cases.
This should be noted that soon a similar situation may be faced in Pakistan as earlier this week Federal Minister for Planning and Development and National Command Operation Center Chairman Asad Umar had apprised that 90 percent of oxygen supply was being used in the country and soon the country could exhaust all its oxygen supply if the coronavirus cases continued to multiply.
India has reported 314,835 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours – the highest one day tally recorded anywhere in the world.
According to the latest Indian health ministry data, total cases are now 15.93 million, while deaths rose by 2,104, to reach a total of 184,657.
Hospitals across northern and western India including the capital, New Delhi, have issued notices which read they had only a few hours of medical oxygen required to keep COVID-19 patients alive.
BBC reported that a number of people had died while waiting for oxygen, and more than 99 percent of all intensive care beds were full.
