Pakistani man breaks French athlete’s world record
A Pakistani man, Irfan Mehsood, has broken the world record of French athlete Eric Lejeune by doing 43 push-ups in one minute carrying 100 lb pack. Lejeune had done 31 push-ups in one minute carrying the same weight.
100 pound weight is equal to about 45.5 kilograms.
Irfan Mehsood has become the only player in the world to make 24 world records in the category of push-ups. He has so far broken 13 world records of India. Apart from these records, he has achieved many records which were held by the United States, the United Kingdom, Iraq, Spain, Italy, Philippine, Egypt and India. Thus far, he has 42 world records to his name.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Irfan trains between four and five hours daily for every record he attempts until he feels he can break the one he’s aiming for. It isn’t uncommon for him to develop aches in his shoulders and back, especially while attempting records with weighted packs like this one.
“One of his main aims through breaking records is to promote his region of Waziristan all while advocating a healthy lifestyle and staying active. Irfan hopes to soon achieve a total of fifty record titles,” it added.
