Pakistani Hindus betrayed in India

 Pakistani Hindus betrayed in India

The Indian government has betrayed the Hindus who recently migrated from Pakistan on promise by the ruling party of awarding them citizenship. To utter disgrace to the Hindu migrants, the Narendra Modi’s government, that had promised to build an ‘Akhand Hindu Rashtra’, is now nonchalant towards fulfilling its promise under ‘Ghar Wapsi’ (homecoming) campaign. This campaign illustrates India as an asylum for Hindus living in any part of the world.

It is pertinent to mention that no official data exists about population of Pakistani Hindus, nevertheless according to The Citizen, over 100 families (around 600 people) had arrived in India since 2011 but they now realize they have been duped, hence are cogitating to return to Pakistan. Dr David Frawley has described the Pakistani Hindus as the segment of society who were facing treacherous circumstances. Most of them are Sindhi, Kutchi and Gujarati. Their hopes of getting Indian citizenship has been shattered as most of them have been denied of it.

They live in camps in a suburban area near New Delhi, surrounded by trash, sewers and filth with swarms of mosquitoes which attract diseases. They are looked down upon as Pakistanis. During winter, they are completely helpless in their makeshift houses, The Diplomat reported. Most of them still possess valid Pakistani passports.

Al Jazeera reported that Pakistani Hindus in India are provided long term visas and some of them are even awarded citizenship but its procedure is crooked. They can stay on the basis of these visas until they are given citizenship. They want the Indian government to address their needs if it considers them as one of them.
