KARACHI: With Dirilis: Ertugrul’s ever-increasing craze, Pakistanis are so impressed with the customs and culture of Kayi tribe now that its glimpses are being seen here and there from time to time, to utter disappointment of those people of our showbiz industry who spoke against the period drama’s being telecast on the national television.
Pakistanis have played tune of Ertugrul’s theme music, so far we have found at least two doppelgangers of the lead characters of the drama – Ertugrul and Turgut –, we sang a song in praise of Ertugrul, the Islamic hero, and T-shirts and outfits similar to or with symbol of Kayi tribe have started selling in the markets.
Taking the cult to another level, a Pakistani couple celebrated their wedding in Kayi tribe’s style, in which warriors whirl and speak chants in praise of the couple and thump swords with their shields.
