Pakistani company receives Russian made vaccine ‘Sputnik V’

KARACHI: A pharmaceutical corporation of Pakistan has gotten the Russian made Sputnik-V vaccines on Thursday.
A senior official of the private firm, Chughtai Lab, said that the cost of the vaccine will be fixed by the government soon. The Covid-19 vaccines would remain stockpiled at a cool place until the price is decided.
Dr Omar Chughtai said, “The registration process of the company’s corona vaccination centres was also underway.”
The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) had agreed the use of Russian vaccine for Covid-19, in case of emergency, in February.
Moreover, Sputnik V could be used by anyone 18-year-old or above. The vaccine needs to be stored at -18 Celsius temperature, as indicated by the sources at DRAP.
According to Moscow’s Gamaleya Research Institute, the success ratio of Sputnik V is 91.6.
