Pakistani-British woman murdered in Lahore
Police found the dead body of a Pakistan-British woman at her rented house in Defence area of Lahore on Monday.
According to the police, the 25-year-old victim was identified as Maya. Furthermore, they said that the culprit (unidentified) had shot her in the head and left her in the house.
Cantt Operations SP Sayyed Ali told Dawn that the victim had arrived from the UK some two months back. However, her family is reportedly settled in the UK.
Sayyed Ali further added that an anonymous caller had informed them about the murder. Later on, forensic experts visited the scene and cordoned off the crime scene.
According to the police, the victim’s friend, who lives in the upper portion of the house, is cooperating with them but she has shared no useful detail.
Unable to travel due to COVID restrictions, the UK-based family were told to to make any close relative living in Lahore the complainant of the case.
Moreover, the police said that the victim’s body had been shifted to morgue for post-mortem. The case would be registered once the police got an application in this regard.
