Pakistan have registered a record breaking Test series win against South Africa by 2-0 after defeating the touring team by 95 runs in the second Test in Rawalpindi.
After a series whitewash Pakistan have climbed up to 5th position in ICC Test rankings.
Fast bowler Hassan Ali claimed ten wickets in the Test match – five-wicket haul in each innings. Pakistan batsman Mohammad Rizwan scored his maiden century in Pakistan’s second innings. Shaheen Afridi also took four wickets in the last innings.
From South African side, Aiden Markram scored 108 runs in the second innings followed by Temba Bavuma (61). Anrich Nortje took five wickets in the first innings followed by Keshab Maharaj’s three wickets while in the second innings George Linde took a five-wicket haul followed by Maharaj’s three wickets.
Pakistan made 272 runs in the first innings and bowled out South Africa for 201. In the second innings Pakistan scored 298 runs setting a target of 370 runs for Proteas to win.
In South Africa’s second innings the touring team were restricted to 274 runs as Pakistan clean swept the series.
Earlier, Pakistan defeated South Africa in Karachi Test by 7 wickets. The T20I series based on three fixtures will be played in Gaddafi Stadium Lahore between 11-14 February.
