KARACHI: Firdous Ashiq Awan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Information and Broadcasting, said that Pakistan welcomes foreign investors with an open heart. She added increased investment in the country due to Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf government’s effective policies.

Addressing an event in Islamabad on Thursday, the special assistant said, “It is the PM’s vision to promote business activities in the country.”

Firdous said the UAE crown prince’s visit to Pakistan is a welcome sign, helping to portray the country’s positive image and encourage investment.

He pointed out that the government has launched multiple schemes for people’s welfare and bringing economic stability to the country.

She said the country would bring prosperity and development this year.

Awan argued that Pakistani youth are our assets and that the government is making efforts to provide them with employment opportunities. She said that in the time of need, overseas Pakistanis always backed their country. “We appreciate their love for the country.”

He said that the government approached the parliament to consult on major issues. “Parliament should play an important role in dealing with the issues in a friendly way.

The state institutions should be free from politics, she said, and the government took steps to free them from all influences. She said the civil and military leadership will continue to play its proper role in fostering the country’s development and peace.
