Pakistan unanimously elected President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council

Pakistan has been unanimously elected President of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. Pakistan has been elected to this important post for the sixth time.

The Economic and Social Council is an important body of the United Nations.Pakistan’s Permanent Representative Munir Akram will chair the Economic and Social Council. Munir Akram had earlier been the President of the Economic and Social Council in 2005.

Only two diplomats have held this important position more than once in the history of the United Nations.
